Wisconsin School Counselor Association, Inc.
The mission of WSCA is to advance the profession of school counseling in preschool through post-secondary in order to maximize the academic performance, career planning, and personal/social growth of every student.
Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Foundation's mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish® experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors and entire communities. From the humble beginnings with one boy’s wish to be a police officer, Make-A-Wish Foundation® evolved into an organization that grants a child’s wish in the U.S. every 40 minutes."
In the fiscal year 2010, Make-A-Wish Foundation® granted the heartfelt wishes of 13,580 children, the most ever in a single year. Each volunteer and staff member is determined to share the power of a wish® with even more children in the coming years. Make-A-Wish Foundation® achieved these goals thanks to an unmatched network of Make-A-Wish® volunteers, donors, sponsors and staff members. Everything Make-A-Wish Foundation® does is focused on helping seriously ill children, and Make-A-Wish Foundation® devotes their selves to serving children first: More than 76 percent of each dollar raise goes directly toward granting children’s wishes.
Although it has become one of the world's most well known charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has maintained the grassroots fulfillment of its mission. A network of nearly 25,000 volunteers enables the Make-A-Wish Foundation® to serve children with life-threatening medical conditions. Volunteers serve as wish granters, fundraisers, special events assistants and in numerous other capacities. As the Foundation continues to mature, its mission will remain steadfast. Wish children of the past, present and future will have an opportunity to share the power of a wish.
Please join WSCA in the supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. We ask attendees to make cash donations or checks payable to Make-A-Wish Foundation. Look for the donation boxes at the registration table, the opening ceremony, and Thursday’s President's Brunch. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of America is a 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization.
