WSCA Annual Conference
February 19-21, 2013

The Conference Committee is in the midst of planning another great WSCA Annual Conference for school counselors and pupil services professionals throughout Wisconsin and the mid-west. As you know, our WSCA Conference has a national reputation for being one of the best conferences in the United States, and this year’s conference will live up to our well-deserved reputation! We are fortunate to have a number of excellent presenters and practitioners at our conference! We have also incorporated our annual Day on the Hill Event into the pre-conference schedule, allowing us to meet with our state legislators and representatives in conjunction with our time at the conference. On behalf of the WSCA Board, we invite you to attend the 2013 WSCA Conference.

The focus of the 2013 WSCA Conference is every child college, career and community ready. As I reflect on the focus of college, career and community readiness (CCC3R), it is clear that school counselors have always focused on CCC3R within the three counseling domains: academic (college), career (career), and personal/social development (community). While key stakeholders at the national, state and local levels have taken a new-found interest in CCC3R, for school counselors it is a “repackaging” of the work we have continually embraced in our work with students, parents, teachers & colleagues, and our communities. I encourage you to attend the conference to find additional ideas and resources to support your important work preparing students to take their place as vital global citizens in the 21st century. School counselors are positioned to have a key role in CCC3R! The conference will provide us all with wonderful opportunities to learn and grow as professionals and leaders!

The WSCA Board is excited to talk with you at the Annual Conference! See you in Madison in February!

WSCA President 2012-2013
