Gay Straight Alliance for Safe Schools

Gay Straight Alliance for Safe Schools (GSAFE) values integrity, honesty, openness, and authenticity. They are committed to LGBTQ youth leadership, racial, gender, and social justice, and recognize we are all life-long learners and teachers. They hold themselves accountable to the youth they serve as well as each other, their board, funders, partner organizations, and the broader community by honoring their commitments and continuously reflecting on and improving their work. They dig deep, think creatively, take on big challenges, and pride themselves on seeing their vision become a reality. They are driven by a vision of a world free of oppression based on gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, race, and other identities and strive to model the world we want to exist through our everyday actions.

A donation to Gay Straight Alliance for Safe Schools increases the capacity of LGBTQ students, educators, and families to create schools in Wisconsin where all youth thrive. GSAFE does this by:

  • Developing the leadership of LGBTQ students,
  • Supporting Gay-Straight Alliances,
  • Training educational staff on creating safe and supportive school communities,
  • Advancing educational justice, and
  • Deepening racial, gender, and social justice.

Please join WSCA in supporting GSAFE. WSCA ask attendees to make cash donations or checks payable to Gay Straight Alliance for Safe Schools. Look for the donation boxes at registration, Wednesday’s opening session, and Thursday’s President’s Brunch. GSAFE is an independent 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization. As such, financial contributions may be deductible for federal income tax purposes. Please consult with your financial advisor to determine the extent of the tax deduction.
