2014 Nominations:  THE WSCA BOARD NEEDS YOU!

The Wisconsin School Counselor Association (WSCA) needs dedicated school counselor-advocates to become members of the WSCA Governing Board of Directors.  The WSCA Board is focused on the profession of school counseling, educational leadership and meaningfully impacting college and career readiness for ALL children in the state of Wisconsin.   WSCA continues to play a vital role in promoting the profession of school counseling to all our stakeholders on a state, regional and national level.  It is through the dedication of the members of the WSCA Board that we ensure school counselors remain leaders in the field of education. 

We strongly encourage school counselors interested in having a significant impact on our profession to serve on the WSCA Governing Board of Directors.  We are currently seeking nominations for Elementary, Middle School, High School and Post Secondary Vice-President Elect.  This is a two-year commitment, one year as Vice-President Elect and the second year as Vice President.

We are also seeking nominations for President-Elect.  This is a three-year commitment; year one as President-Elect, year two as WSCA President, and year three as Past President.

Thank you for your willingness to be a state leader with the Wisconsin School Counselor Association.  There are over 1,100 members who own WSCA and benefit from the leadership of the WSCA board.

Each candidate must complete all of the following application items and return the information electronically to no later than January 1, 2014.
  1. A candidate registration form (PDF)
  2. A one page resume (not exceed 8 ½ x 11”)
  3. A picture in jpeg format that is no smaller than 2 ½ “ x 3” (that looks professional in black & white or in color print)
  4. A 250 word candidate statement (Times Roman font; font size 12)
  5. A letter of recommendation from a school counselor colleague or peer (or fellow instructor) OR an immediate administrator/supervisor. (The letter cannot exceed 750 words and should describe why the reference believes you are a good candidate for the WSCA Board).
  6. Nominees must a member in good standing of WSCA in order to be an eligible candidate for election. If you are not currently a member, please go to
Elections open February 14, 2014 and close on March 15, 2014.  Members of WSCA place their votes on an electronic ballot.  Candidates will be introduced to association members on the WSCA website and at the Annual WSCA Conference on Wednesday, February 19, 2014.  Elected officials will be announced by April 10, 2014.
