  • Post Secondary Counselors

We welcome you to the WSCA Post Secondary webpage.

There are really two parts to this page. The first part will provide information about the position of Vice President for Post Secondary. The second part is an opportunity to update you on a monthly basis on all things pertaining to counseling and Post Secondary. While this is a pretty large undertaking we hope share ideas that are immediately relevant to you as a counselor, graduate student, faculty or staff member or just someone interested in school counseling.

The Post Secondary Vice President is responsible for:

  1. Activate and increase awareness of resources (such as legislation, position paper, etc.) to meet the needs of counselors in various levels. (This is the purpose for our web page-tune in often)
  2. Provide support to WSCA members on ways to use research and data as evidence of the impact of school counseling activities. (Did you know we have a research committee and also provide grant money to counselors interested in doing research?)
  3. Encourage and assist counselors in conducting research.
  4. Promote collaborative research by school counselors, teachers, administrators, and university faculties.
  5. Recognize counselors who are involved in research activities.
  6. Provide leadership and coordination for the Ethics Committee and WSCA general membership.(The board meets every other month, let us know your ideas so we can pass them on)
